Jutting 541 feet above the ground stands the Glastonbury Tor. Supposedly, it was founded by Joseph of Arimethea in 63 AD. We all hiked to the top and enjoyed a breathtaking 360 degree panoramic view. There used to be an church on the top of the Tor but it was destroyed by an earthquake. Local lore also says that this area holds the final resting place for King Arthur.
For some reason the area is an attraction for hippies now. We were “treated” to a drum beating (tom toms?) serenade by 10 neo-druids at the top of the Tor. Luckily, they had their eyes closed so they couldn’t see me laughing at them.
