How has summer flown by so fast?! It seems like I just got out of school! I have been so incredibly blessed with many fun trips this summer. We like to take all kinds of trips – rent houses, rv, indoor stuff/outdoor stuff. This last trip we took was a camping one with our RV in Nashville, Tennessee. From Indy to Nashville the trip took about 6 hours to drive but it would have been faster if we didn’t have to pull the RV.
When we look for a place for the RV, we use Good Sam’s to give us an overview. We look for 9+ ratings, and it never fails! The winner for our Nashville trip was Nashville Shores, billed as Nashville’s premier family water park.
It has a dog park which was great for our dog Ellie, a zipline course and it’s surrounded by water so you can rent boats, kayaks and wave-runners. A great part was that our campsite was even on the lake! Nashville Shores also had a water park!
And now about the water park…As soon as we got there, we put on our swimsuits and had 2 hours to enjoy the slides! It was a bonus that the tickets were cheaper because it was later in the day. The water park was tons of fun and I did every slide in the quick time we were there. It’s not a huge park, but has everything you’d expect in a great water park – a lazy river, wave pool, tube rides, mat rides, etc.
Travel Tip: Avoid the long lines at amusement parks, and often get lower admission, by going later in the day. Plus, it’s usually much cooler!
Nashville Shores is also having a haunted house this year. My dad was out walking our dog and he saw the whole set and had to show us to. The campground hired professionals (that set up haunted scenes for a living) and they started in April! We took a walk back there and saw everything. It wasn’t even finished and I was scared. What made it even more scary was the fact that we heard music coming out one of the sets. Who was back there? All of the workers had left for the day! This place was really amazing even though it wasn’t set up all the way and it was really elaborate.
P.S I didn’t get any pictures of the water park because I was so excited I forgot my phone!
